1. Lịch sử/ sự kiện
Tập đoàn Bưu chính Viễn thông Việt Nam (VNPT) là doanh nghiệp có lịch sử phát triển lâu dài gắn liền với sự đi lên của ngành bưu chính viễn thông Việt Nam. Thực hiện quyết định của Thủ tướng Chính phủ, ngày 26/3/2006, Tập đoàn Bưu chính Viễn thông Việt Nam (VNPT) đã chính thức ra mắt và đi vào hoạt động. Ngày 17/11/2006, Thủ tướng Chính phủ đã ký Quyết định phê duyệt Điều lệ tổ chức và hoạt động của VNPT.
2. Sản xuất kinh doanh/Vị thế:
VNPT là tập đoàn chủ đạo của nhà nước khai thác tất cả các dịch vụ viễn thông (trừ dịch vụ viễn thông hàng hải) trải dài 64 tỉnh thành trên toàn quốc. VNPT còn đầu tư đa ngành vào một số lĩnh vực như sản xuất nguyên vật liệu, thiết bị viễn thông, du lịch, tài chính, bảo hiểm, in ấn… Là một tập đoàn hàng đầu của Việt Nam, tuy nhiên VNPT không phải là một tổ chức hoạt động theo mô hình tập đoàn như ở phương tây. VNPT là tập hợp các liên doanh, hợp tác BCC và các doanh nghiệp phụ thuộc với cơ cấu tổ chức khá phức tạp.
Trong lĩnh vực Internet, VNPT chiếm thị phần lớn 55% (tính đến tháng 12/2007, nguồn: Trung tâm Internet Vietnam ). Tuy có sự cạnh tranh mạnh mẽ từ các đối thủ như Viettel, SPT, EVN, FPT…nhưng VNPT vẫn là tập đoàn chiếm thị phần chi phối trong khai thác thông tin di động và điện thoại cố định (đạt 27,8 triệu máy trong đó có 19 triệu thuê bao di động) thông qua việc nắm giữ hạ tầng mạng viễn thông chính của Việt Nam. Tháng 4/2008, VNPT cùng đối tác Arianespace đã phóng thành công vệ tinh Vinasat mở ra kỷ nguyên mới cho ngành viễn thông của Việt Nam và duy trì vị trí số một hiện nay trong lĩnh vực viễn thông của tập đoàn.
3. Chiến lược phát triển và Đầu tư
VNPT chủ trương phát triển trở thành một tập đoàn kinh doanh đa ngành với nòng cốt là viễn thông, mở rộng hợp tác quốc tế, tiến hành cổ phần hoá một số đơn vị thành viên nhằm nâng cao sức cạnh tranh trên thị trường quốc tế. Tuy nhiên, cũng như các công ty nhà nước khác, VNPT sẽ phải đối mặt với những thử thách trong việc hoàn thiện hệ thống quản trị trong quá trình hội nhập toàn cầu. |
1. History/Events
Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) is
an enterprise which has the long-term development associated with the development of Vietnam posts and telecommunications industry. Pursuant to the decision dated 26 March 2006 by the Prime Minister, VNPT officially opened and came into operation. On 17, November 2006, the Prime Minister signed the Decision for approving the charter of VNPT.
2. Operation/Market position:
VNPT is the major group of the State which operates in all telecommunications services (except for maritime telecommunications), in all 64 provinces and cities. Also, VNPT invests in some fields such as manufacturing raw materials, telecommunications equipments, travel, finance, insurance, printing, ect. Despite of being a leading group in Vietnam, VNPT is not operating in the model of western corporation. VNPT is a combination of joint-venture enterprises, BCC cooperation and dependent enterprises which have a fairly structure.
In the field of Internet, VNPT accounts for 55% (calculated to December, 2007, source: Vietnam Internet Centre). Despite of the strong competition from rivals such as Viettel, SPT, EVN, FPT, VNPT still remains a group which accounts for a dominant market share in exploiting mobile information and telephones (with 27.8 millions of telephones in which there are 19 millions of mobile subscribers) by means of holding the main telecommunication network infrastructure in Vietnam. In April 2008, VNPT and its partner, Arianespace, launched successfully Vinasat satellite. This event has opened a new era for Vietnam telecommunications and helped the group to keep its current number one position in the telecommunications field.
3. Strategic development & Investment
VNPT aims to become an interdisciplinary group in which the major business is telecommunications, extending the international cooperation, equitizing some of its subsidiaries in order to improve its competitive ability in the international market. However, like other state companies, VNPT will have to deal with challenges in completing its administration system in the process of global integration. |
