Được thành lập năm 1993, Thép Việt hiện là tập đoàn thép tư nhân lớn nhất Việt Nam đồng thời có tốc độ tăng trưởng nhanh nhất với sự hình thành hệ thống chuỗi các nhà máy sản xuất hiện đại. Năm 1995: Đầu tư Công ty Sản xuất sản phẩm mạ Vingal cùng Công ty Thép Miền Nam và Tập đoàn Delta Group (Australia). Năm 1997: Đầu tư Công ty Liên doanh Thép Tây Đô. Năm 1999: Thành lập Công ty Thép Pomina, với số vốn đầu tư 68 triệu USD. Năm 2004: Xây dựng Nhà máy thép Thép Việt có công suất 1 triệu tấn/năm, trị giá đầu tư 110 triệu USD. Công ty đã đạt được chứng nhận Thương hiệu Hàng đầu 2005, danh hiệu sản xuất, kinh doanh giỏi. Công ty đã triển khai kế hoạch xây dựng Nhà máy sản xuất thép 1,1 triệu tấn/năm (bao gồm 500.000 tấn luyện và 600.000 tấn cán) tại Khu Công nghiệp Phú Mỹ, tỉnh Bà Rịa Vũng Tàu. Nhà máy có tổng trị giá đầu tư 300 triệu USD với công nghệ hiện đại nhất thế giới hiện nay về sản xuất thép của hãng Techin-Italia.

ThepViet was established in 1993. In Vietnam, it is the largest private steel corporation having a fastest growth rate with the establishment of the modern factory system. In 1995, the company cooperated with the Southern Steel Company and Delta Group (Australia) to invest in Vingal Industries Co.,LTD. In 1997, the company invested in TayDo Steel Co., LT. In 1999, Pomina Steel Mill was established with the total investment capital of USD68 billion. In 2004, ThepViet Steel Factory was built with a capacity of 1 millions of tons/year and a total investment capital of USD110 million. The company was granted the Certificate of Top Trademark in 2005, the title of good production and business enterprise. The company has implemented the plan of building the Steel Factory with a capacity of 1.1 million ton/year (including 500,000 tons of refined steel and 600,000 tons of laminated steel) in Phu My Industrial Zone, Ba Ria province, Vung Tau. The factory has a total investment capital of USD 300 million with the most up-to-date technology of Techin – Italia in respect to the steel production.
